Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Like this:Like Loading… RelatedAntisipasi Covid-19, Awak Kabin AirAsia Punya Seragam Baru Mirip Kostum Hazmat29/04/2020In “Destinasi”Serikat Pekerja Awak Kabin di AS Minta Semua Orang Gunakan Masker di Bandara dan Kabin Pesawat29/04/2020In “Domestik”Dengan Dalih Risiko Tertular Covid-19! Newly drafted Browns cornerback Greedy Williams made headlines when he was drafted by Cleveland, proclaiming that the Browns are going to the Super Bowl this season – and adding “that’s a fact.”His head coach wasn’t feeling the disrespect that it might have showed to the other 31 teams in the league, and quickly Freddie Kitchens made it known that he’s not all that happy about a new player coming out with such statements. “We’re not in the prediction business,’’ Kitchens said regarding Williams’ comment. The Browns loved what they saw out of Williams enough to move up from No. 49 to 46 in a deal with the Indianapolis Colts to grab the LSU corner.Williams has the confidence, as shown by making such a statement, but maybe the message should be put on hold till the team plays even a couple of games.“I like the confidence,’’ Kitchens said. “I like the excitement and the passion that he has, but I think that mantra kind of changed today probably, right?”It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Williams’ mouth go on silent mode after the chat with Kitchens, probably a smart move for all involved. “But I don’t know how many predictions he’ll be making. He’s a good kid, though. He’s a really good kid and he was just full of excitement and I like excitement and I like enthusiasm and he has a lot of both.’’ Related TopicsBrownsfeaturedFreddie KitchensGreddy Williams Matt Loede Matt Loede has been a part of the Cleveland Sports Media for over 21 years, with experience covering Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, the National Football League and even high school and college events. Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has stated his willingness to extend his stay at the Premier League champions beyond 2021 when his current contract ends even though the club faces a potential two-year Champions League suspension.City were banned from European competition for the next two seasons and fined 30 million euros ($32.53 million) by UEFA last week after an investigation into alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play rules.Guardiola, who this week stated that he had no reason to leave the club in the close season, said he would take a call on an extension after talking to City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak “at the end of the season or in the middle of next season.”“I’m working with exceptional players and I have the feeling that they follow us 100%. Knowing how it’s not easy working with us and with me, but I’m happy,” Guardiola told reporters.“That’s the only reason why, when I move from one place, always it’s because I’m thinking I can be happier than the place that I was before.“We’ve got incredible owners and a good relationship, so I think it will not be a problem to understand both sides, if we decide to stay three more years or stay in the time we are together.”Guardiola, who has never spent more than four years at his previous clubs Barcelona (2008-2012) and Bayern Munich (2013-2016), signed a one-year contract extension at City in 2018 — a decision he said he did not regret.“The important thing is that I didn’t regret one second to come here and extend the contract,” he added. “After that results dictate our job… Every manager is sacked, every manager has problems, every manager has good and bad moments.“I am no different. I don’t regret one moment the decision we made together and I want to finish this contract and after that we will see.”Related

The Iowa Department of Revenue has an area on their website where you can check the status of your tax refund.A lot of Iowans are calling the Iowa Department of Revenue asking about the status of their tax return.Victoria Daniels is spokewoman for the agency. “A lot is an understatement,” Daniels said, laughing. More than half as many income tax refunds have been issued this year in Iowa compared to last year at this time.“It’s been crazy,” Daniels said. “People are upset, they’re frustrated, and sometimes they’re not very nice.” The issue isn’t unique to Iowa. Many states are warning that income tax refunds may take several months. The reason refunds are taking longer involves new protections against fraud.“The incidents of tax refund fraud has just skyrocketed in the last five years or so,” Daniels said. “There’s been some (fraud), to some extent, for a long time, but just within the last five years, it’s just out of control.”Another factor in the refund delay is a new federal law requiring the IRS to hold refunds until February 15 for people who claim certain tax credits. The federal agency conducts an additional review of those returns that are considered especially vulnerable to fraud. Daniels suggests taxpayers get used to waiting longer for their returns.“We’ve been telling taxpayers to allow at least eight weeks before the even think about seeing a return show up,” Daniels said. And instead of calling the Iowa Department of Revenue to check on a return, Daniels wants Iowans to visit the agency’s website.“We have an app on our website called Where’s My Refund? You just need your social security number, the amount of your return, and the tax year you filed for, and that will give you the status of your refund,” Daniels said. Iowa has issued just under $142 million in income tax refunds on 2016 returns as of March 24.“Comparatively to last year, that’s about 58 percent less — both in terms of dollars and number of checks that have been issued,” Daniels said. The Iowa Department of Revenue received more than 10,000 fake tax returns for the 2015 filing season, according to Daniels.Share this:FacebookTwitter
NEW YORK | Burger King. Tim Hortons. Popeyes. All three fall under the same person, Daniel Schwartz, the CEO of their parent company Restaurant Brands International Inc. His strategy: spread those fast-food chains around the world.Burger King, for example, has gone from having zero stores in France five years ago to more than 100 today. Canadian doughnut and coffee seller Tim Hortons has expanded into Europe and Asia. And there are plans to bring fried-chicken chain Popeyes, which Restaurant Brands bought earlier this year, to more countries. Schwartz talked with The Associated Press recently about delivery in the U.S., expansion plans and what he orders from each chain. The questions and answers below have been edited for clarity and length.Q: Your rivals are expanding delivery in more parts of the country. When will Burger King deliver in the U.S.?A: We actually explored delivery several years ago in the U.S. prematurely. But it’s something that we are focused on now. We’re working on it. We’re doing delivery in some of our Popeyes restaurants in the U.S. and Canada already.Q: Restaurant Brands bought Popeyes earlier this year for $1.8 billion. Why Popeyes?A: What we saw in Popeyes was an iconic brand with a big opportunity to expand all around the world. If you look at some of the peers in that space, the number of restaurants they have outside the U.S. is quite large. Popeyes is in around 30 to 40 countries, which is very small.Q: Is Popeyes in China?A: No, but the answer should be yes. It’s a great brand and we think it’ll resonate really well with our guests all throughout Asia, so that’s a priority.Q: Why aren’t there many Tim Hortons in the U.S.?A: It takes time and we’ve been expanding in the U.S. We have our largest presence in Buffalo, Detroit and Columbus. We’ve opened some restaurants in Cincinnati; we’ll be opening up some restaurants in Indianapolis; we’ve opened some in Minneapolis. Our new partners in Cleveland recently announced they will be opening some restaurants there. It’s historically been a predominantly Canadian chain. We heard people ask the same question in the Philippines and the U.K., and now we are opening up restaurants there.Q: What’s up with the crazy menu items, like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake at Burger King?A: We have amazing milkshakes, and it’s a nice, fun, playful way of bringing some innovation to them. They get a lot of buzz on social media, and our guests like it.Q: Do you have to approve those items first?A: No, no, no. My involvement is fostering this creative and growth culture and being involved in the hiring of good people. I am not choosing the products because we have to empower people to be able to make decisions and be innovative. So if they need my approval to do all these things, then we’d be really slow. And we don’t want to be slow.Q: Which menu items do you order at each place?A: Whopper, obviously. With Tims, I’ll have a double double and lately a latte because we launched espressos this year. It’s a lot of coffee. And Popeyes, I’m still in the phase where I just eat everything on the menu. I will tell you, it’s rare I have a week where I haven’t eaten products from all of them.Q: Where do you work?A: I kind of work on an airplane. The Burger King brand headquarters is in Miami. The Tims headquarters and our head office is in Toronto. And we have international offices for the brands in Switzerland and Singapore, so I kind of bop back and forth around all the offices. And I try to spend most of my time visiting our restaurant owners. In the office, you kind of lose sight. You have to go to the restaurants to see what’s really happening.Contact Joseph Pisani at https://twitter.com/josephpisani In this Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017, photo, Daniel Schwartz, the CEO of Restaurant Brands International, which owns Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons, talks during an interview in New York. PSC golf from The Billabong Golf BarMonday, March 3, Silky Oak – StablefordA deserted Silky Oak today and the course was in great condition, with fast greens and no way you could get a bad lie on the fairways. We have to thank John Player for looking after the lads today and he did a sterling job. We welcomed Chris Dodd back to the bar today minus his good mate Steve Croy who is unfortunately laid up waiting for an operation for a detached retina and broken nose due to shanked golf ball from one of his friends. If you could see how he looks you will never get in front of a golfer again, it is a terrible lesson to learn this way. We wish you a speedy recovery mate and look forward to seeing you soon.Friday’s top three (L-R): Jack Piercefield, Bob Philp and Chris Fletcher. The scores were quite good with a three-way count back on 36 points at the top that saw Owen Walkley, playing his best golf for a long time, coming in third, Chris Dodd taking second and Jack Piercefield taking the day’s honours in first. There were four ‘2’s coming from Mal Farquharson, John Burns and Doug Douglas (2).Wednesday, March 5, Green Valley – StablefordWe had nine groups playing today at our usual venue Green Valley, and we got off about 10 minutes early and were back in the clubhouse in just on four hours. The course was in great condition as always but the greens weren’t as fast as normal, which meant for the scribe anyway that some putts were left a little short much to the disgust of his playing partner, however we didn’t lose the day as it turned out all square. The scores were really good apart from our mate from Australia, John Burns, who had a whopping 13 points. I think we will have to get a NAGA prize for future competitions for scores like this one. No wonder him and his mate Thommo got rolled by Cottee and John Player in the challenge.Amazingly enough in nine groups there were no ‘2’s and that must be a first with that many players out there. We had a count back for sixth place between Auke and Roger Ison, both on 35 points, with Roger getting the nod, fifth place went to Greig Ritchie playing his best round of golf in a long time with 37 points, and again it was a count back for third and fourth on 39 with Eng Duangwaw taking fourth and her good friend Nichawan Khiaophuang (Sa) in third. Second place today went to Chris Dodd with a great 41 points, but not quite good enough to beat Owen Walkley who pipped him at the post with 42 points, his best round for a long time!Friday, March 7, Khao Kheow – StablefordHaving not played at Khao Kheow for quite some time it was a pleasant day out, even though there were a few late starters who had a night on the town and one too many sherbets.Chris Fletcher joined us today which turned out to be third time lucky for him. Every time he has tried before work seemed to get in the way. He did have some more luck on A7 with a great shot into the green which initially he thought was a bit short. He had us looking in the rough to the right of the green only for Martin Hayes to look in the hole and there it was for an eagle, a two for five points! Playing the scribe for a couple of ciders he jumped 5 points clear on that hole, but with a nothing on the last the Capt got him back with a birdie on the 18th to win by a couple of points overall.Larry Gamble had the round of his life with a fantastic 13 points all told I think he was glad to be on his way home the following day. Coming third was the eagle man Chris Fletcher with 35 points, second was Jack Piercefield with 36 and taking top spot was Capt Bob with 38 points and two ciders.Note: The Billabong Golf Bar is situated just off Siam Country Club Road looking straight down Lake Mabprachan. Peter ‘the man from Atlantis’ Henshaw matched Dave’s output to take the top spot in B Flight. Co. Dublin’s Pat Reagan followed Dave home as he out-pointed the Golf Club’s big hitting nice guy John McHugh on the inward nine to take the silver.Peter Henshaw (left) and Dave Boran.Jez ‘Lord Lucan’ Lee took the silver in B Flight with a steady 35 points, although he had an amazing four no scores on his card. Jim ‘AK47’ Bell showed little chivalry in winning the count back over the ever green Mike ‘the mechanic’ Craighead.Dave Boran, Pat Regan, Lee Adelly Peter Henshaw, Jim Bell and Claude Harder shared the 2’s pot.Monday, Dec. 24, Greenwood C&A – StablefordA Flight1st J-P Gasser (11) 35pts2nd Peter Hynard (13) 33ptsB Flight1st Lindsay Semple (15) 37pts2nd Colin Davis (17) 35ptsOld friend ‘the man from down-under’ Lindsay Semple was a sight for sore eyes; at least, that is until he spoiled the warm welcome by coming in with the day’s top round and B Flight winning score. Lindsay was also the only player to better his handicap on the day and his 37 points was two clear of ‘the Donkey’.J-P Gasser continues his way to the pay window and his 35 point senior flight winning points insured it was a worthwhile trip. Peter ‘the right honorable’ Hynard crept in to second place with his 33 points.Good old pal Mick Folan lifted the 2’s pot.Every year, Christy Knight invites his friends to his house for a Christmas party and karaoke. Peter ‘the man from Atlantis’ Henshaw was the first to negotiate his way round the pool to give his recital of a Jonny Cash hit “a Boy named Sue”. Ed Delaney predicted that Peter might just fall in the pool as Peter was well and truly sloshed. Peter did not disappoint as he tripped head first in to the deep end. We all agreed the ‘tuna’ we got him out the better, and Peter muttered something about feeling a right tope and he would not return next year to this dive.A great night was rounded off with ‘Broad more’ getting the girls to throw their underwear at him with his interpretation of the Tom Jones hit “Sex bomb” and the scribe’s George Formby masterpiece “when I’m cleaning windows”.Many thanks, to Christy and Mango, for a wonderful night.Wednesday, Dec. 26, Bangpra – StablefordA Flight1st Francis Goyons (9) 35pts2nd Ronnie Wilson (11) 35pts3rd Thierry Petrement (12) 33ptsB Flight1st Tore Eliassen (15) 36pts2nd Mike Jeffreys (19) 35pts3rd Jerry McCarthy (14) 35ptsC Flight1st Mick Coghlan (25) 37pts2nd Barry Oats (25) 32pts3rd Keith McLachlan (21) 30ptsRed & Silver Flight1st Brian Prudden (19) 38pts2nd Nadine Goyons (11) 32ptsBrian Prudden, tired of constantly hearing wife Marlene’s name hailed to the victory podium, put his foot down and shot the best score in the Red and Silver Flight, which also won him the man of the match as he led the guys and girls home. Brian was six strokes clear of Nadine Goyons. Marlene was 2 shots back with a no-counting third place. You can’t fault Ronnie Wilson’s 35 point A Flight return but it was not as favorably distributed as Francis Goyons who made it a family double podium visit. The calculator was on overtime as Thierry Petrement, Dave Shelton and teaching pro Ian Ashendon all vied for the bronze; it finished with Ian and Dave heading for the driving range to sort out the problems.Tore Eliassen led B Flight into the barn with a respectable even par round, bettering three players all a stroke in arrears; Mike Jeffreys, Jerry McCarthy, and the Donkey. The calculator needed new batteries to sort this one out but when the dust had settled it was the Donkey who missed out, but I know no one felt bad about it.Skipping down to C Flight we saw Mick Coghlan return the second best card of the day – a solid 37 points. Barry Oats was a distant second on 35 points, while Kiwi ace Keith McLachlan rounded out the flight a further shot back.J-P Maffray, J-P Gasser and Petai Vetowiem shared the 2’s pot.(Peter ‘the man from Atlantis’ failed to turn out and rumor has it he was trying to improve his diving technique).Friday, Dec. 28, Mountain Shadow – StablefordA Flight (Silky Oak)1st Pat Hanafin (13) 35pts2nd Andy Kelleher (10) 34pts3rd Save Shelton (8) 35ptsB Flight (Silky Oak)1st Brian Prudden (19) 38pts2nd Ed Junger (19) 33pts3rd Mike Jeffreys (19) 22ptsC Flight (Green Valley)1st Geoff Kubas (22) 38pts2nd Sean Murphy (29) 32pts3rd Esara Duangsri (35) 31ptsBrian Prudden continues to amaze as he quickly acclimates to each new flight level. This day was further evidence as Brian garnered 38 points for his co-man of the match B Flight top spot and second win in as many games. Brian’s 38 points was six clear of good friend Ed Junger, as Mike Jeffreys prevailed on count back over the unlucky Jimmy AK47 Bell for third.C Flight was not about to go unnoticed as Geoff ‘Elvis’ Kubas was in fine tune to match Brian’s 38 points for the flight and co-man of the match honours. Sean ‘the Irish rover’ Murphy’s 32 points held up for the silver while Esara Duangsri was a shot in areas of Sean to close the flight.A Flight was led by another from the ‘old sod’, Pat Hanafin, as his 35 points took the podium top spot. Andy Kelleher followed Pat up the podium steps a shot back and Dave Shelton and J-P Maffray went to count back for the bronze; alas to J-P there was no step left for his 32 point effort.Andy Kelleher, Dave Shelton, Rob Mulholland, Jon Haugen and Nial Higgins shared the 2’s pot.Note: Lewiinski’s is situated on Pattaya Land Soi 1, Beach Road Soi 13/3 near to Walking Street.
