Avena PrinceLien Philogene-NorvilleTwo young local entrepreneurs have emerged winners of the TEN Habitat’s Caribbean Start Up Summit competition which was organized by the OECS.Avena Prince and Lien Philogene-Norville were selected along with 11 other winning participants around the region.The Caribbean Startup Summit is TEN Habitat’s flagship annual event which brings together a global team of startup experts, founders and entrepreneur resource providers to help empower startups in the region.Owner of upcoming Harmony Threads Fashion Agency and Beauty Bar, Lien Philogene-Norville informed DA Vibes that she strives to impact lives of women, young mothers and children.“I look for opportunities as much as I can to be part of entrepreneurial activities and things [to uplift] so that I can share my experiences with people back home.”The Caribbean Start Up Summit is said to be  the event built on inspiring  dreamers and empowering ideas. The summit  is set to take place between May 24th and 25th in Barbados.Philogene went on to say that she is overjoyed and humbled to be part of such an event.“Based [on] what I read from the embassy’s website, the two-day summit is going to be phenomenal and I wanted to be part of this experience so that I can take back home what I learned from the summit and impact at least one life.”Meanwhile, Avena Prince told DA Vibes that she looks forward to furthering her knowledge in personal development and networking while at the summit. Prince said that she is opened to keep learning and improving her entrepreneurial skills.“As an entrepreneur it is necessary for me to keep growing, to keep learning and to be aware of world developments in various industries. I believe the summit will provide these benefits as well as provide a platform for me to connect with people who can help in my vision for Royal Globe Inc. As we continue to lead others towards self-employment and self-sustenance.”The Embassy confirmed funding of the entrepreneurs’ participation in the Summit, including airfare and hotel accommodations as well as  transportation in Barbados.
