Jensen Lynnes, Nash Oswald break swim records in Sailfish season opener

first_imgWill Mott swims in his first swim meet.Submitted to Sumner Newscow — Wellington battled Derby in the first swim meet of the season at the Wellington Aquatic Center. Here was some of the highlights that occurred at the meet:Several records were broken on a cloudy, but steamy hot Tuesday evening:Jensen Lynnes•Jensen Lynnes set two new pool records and three team records. She broke records in the 200 freestyle at 2:24.65 (also a new team record). This broke a 2003 record held by Arielle Horsch of Wellington. In the 100 freestyle she swam a 1:08.84 (also a new team record). This broke a pool record from 2011 held by Wellington’s Bliss Baird.Lynnes also set a new team record in the 50 free with a 31.33 time. This breaks a 2003 record previously held by Arielle Horsch.Nash Oswald•Nash Oswald also set two pool records and three team records as well:In the 50 back, he swam a 34.91 (also a team record). This broke a record from 2000 held by a McPherson swimmer.In the 50 free, Oswald swam a 30.79 (also a team record) which broke a 2011 record held by a Winfield swimmer.  Nash also set a new team record in  50 fly at 36.83.This broke a team record set by John Heath in 1999.Overall, Derby won the meet with a combined 484 to 168 score. In the boys it was 184 to 93 and in the girls it was 300 to 75.
