A Whittier woman saw news reports about a suspect being arrested for two burglaries at Puppy Love, 14766 Beach Blvd. She told deputies the suspect, Walter Steward of La Mirada, gave her the Shih Tzu shortly after the Nov. 7 burglary, according to Sgt. Steve Mills. Another 10 puppies were stolen from the same pet shop on Nov. 23. Mills said the woman is an acquaintance of Steward. The woman brought the puppy to the station on Wednesday. It was positively identified by the pet store owner as being one of the stolen puppies, he said. last_img read more
