La Plaine constituency’s Christmas gift

first_img Share 784 Views   no discussions Share Share Tweetcenter_img Sharing is caring! Vehicular access to Boetica and Delices has been restored, four months following the passage of Tropical Storm Erika.Heavy rainfall during the storm completely destroyed the Boetica bridge and left a huge gorge.Attempts to build a temporary bypass and install a bailey bridge donated by the St Vincent and the Grenadines government, proved to be a challenge due to the nature of the gorge and continued rainfall.During the process of installing a temporary bypass and the bridge, residents were forced to use a zip line, installed across the gorge.“This year’s Christmas holds special significance for the La Plaine Constituency as access to Boetica and Delices was finally achieved,” Parliamentary representative for that constituency, Petter Saint Jean wrote on Facebook on 24 December.“It was a long, rough road but we made it through. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL,” he added.“The Government of Dominica is proud to announce the opening of the Boetica Gorge Bailey Bridge. We are committed to serving our people. Merry Christmas to all,” Minister for Tourism and Urban Renewal, Senator Robert Tonge posted on Facebook.Video courtesy Senator Robert Tonge’s Facebook page: Video Playerhttps://www.dominicavibes.dm/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/mp46.mp400:0000:0000:29Use Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume. Kenai Man Released Again, Alleged Victim Says She Initiated Contact

first_imgFacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Roosevelt Hearod will today be released from jail for the second time in a week. Hearod was accused by an off-duty police officer of violating a protective order, but his alleged victim told the court she had initiated the contact and Hearod had told her he couldn’t talk to her. State prosecutors argued that police have a duty to report crimes whether they are on or off duty and asked if the off-duty officer was expected to “close her eyes” and ignore the alleged violation. During today’s bail review hearing, Hearod’s attorney Nathan Lockwood told asked the court what his client was expected to do, “sprint into the ocean? There’s nowhere to go on Kenai’s north beach. I don’t understand what the State expects someone to do to avoid contact.” State prosecutors didn’t dispute the alleged victim’s statements, but Kenai District Court Judge Sharon Illsley told 39-year-old Hearod that “You can’t even say, ‘I can’t have contact with you,’ because that’s contact.” Hearod was acquitted on Wednesday of threatening two Kenai Police officers on Christmas Eve. Just hours after being found not guilty, he was turned in for the alleged protective order violation by one of those officers and arrested by the other.center_img Hearod was granted $500 unsecured cash appearance bond. He will face court again on May 25. Lockwood argued for lighter bail conditions, saying his client didn’t have any money to post bail because he had been in jail for five months on charges for which he was ultimately found not guilty. The victim told the courts she is in the process of moving to Wasilla, which will reduce the chances of any future violations.last_img read more

“Not set any future plans yet” – Southampton player held talks…

first_imgRalph Hasenhüttl replaced the former Manchester City boss at St Mary’s Stadium in December 2018, and the winger went on to make only one league start in this calendar year.Reports coming out of Belgium suggest the Saints have agreed a deal with Standard Liège for Moussa Djenepo and the arrival of the wideman will only increase competition for a place in the starting lineup.Speaking to Norway’s TV2, the 24-year-old responded to claims of Djenepo’s arrival, which could further restrict Elyounoussi’s chances of playing regular football next season.“Now there has been a focus on the national team and winning the two matches here. But I’m going to focus on myself when I return. There will always be changes in the Premier League. So, we’ll see how it is when I return,” Elyounoussi explained.Embed from Getty ImagesLast month, the Norway international admitted he will have a chat with the manager about his future at the club. The player has now confirmed he held talks with Hasenhüttl.“We had a little talk before I went on a holiday. He knows my qualities and sees that I fit into his plans. But we have not set any future plans yet. Now it’s time to get back in shape and take it from there,” he added. When TV2 further questioned if he felt secure after talking to Hasenhüttl, Elyounoussi said: “We had a good chat together. Both with him and the club. I didn’t get a good run when I got there, so now it is about getting in shape in the preseason.“It will be these two games here, and then there will be a holiday in Morocco. But I probably won’t get to be lazy there.”by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must Have.Forge of Empires – Free Online GameUndo熱門話題小心會長過頭…網友推爆:「真的長得超誇張!」熱門話題UndoRaid: Shadow Legends | Free DownloadEven Non-Gamers Are Obsessed With This RPG Game (It’s Worth Installing!)Raid: Shadow Legends | Free DownloadUndoMisterStocksThese Hilarious Photos Were Captured On The SubwayMisterStocksUndoPerfect-Dating.comThousands of successful men are looking for women in Tung ChungPerfect-Dating.comUndoKeto减肥1個簡單的妙招一夜「融化」腹部贅肉(今晚試試)Keto减肥UndoSmart Tech TrendOver 55? (Photo by Bruce Badgley, Motorsports Photograhy)WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – After winning a second straight Larry Shaw Racing Western Region crown, Cory Sample gave some thought to the day when he’ll make a large addition to his trophy collection. From Winnemucca, Nev., Sample won 23 of 50 IMCA Modified starts while traveling to a baker’s dozen tracks in five states this season.Champion at both Rattlesnake Raceway and Winnemucca Regional Raceway, he also won a second straight and career fourth Allstar Performance Nevada State crown. All those titles came behind the wheel of a 2010 Razor Chassis. Sample has a total of 83 feature wins in that car since he bought it four years ago.“It’s been the perfect car for us. I don’t know of another driver who has as many wins in the same car,” Sample said. “When the time comes for us to get a new car, we won’t sell this one. It will become a trophy.”Runner-up in the national points race for a second consecutive season, Sample won four of six April starts. He had a streak of five straight checkers at the end of the season.“We didn’t set out to win the regional championship but we felt good after last year and just kept winning this spring. By mid-summer we made the decision to keep going for the region the rest of the year and while we didn’t travel as much as usual, we kept plugging away,” Sample said. “I don’t like getting national runner-up two years in a row because I always want to do better than I did the year before. It gives us more drive to go for the top spot.”“The bonus points did not work out in our favor but I am not disappointed by any means,” he continued. “Twenty-three wins in 50 starts are pretty good stats.”Sample totaled nine checkers at Rattlesnake and another six at Winnemucca. He ended the season with double figure wins for the fifth time in his career.“We got to work out some bugs right away on the Arizona Modified Tour and race with some very stout fields,” Sample said. “We wanted to go to Arizona and race and just have fun, and we were able to do that.”While no one race during the weekly point season stood out as a highlight, Sample came oh-so-close to achieving a career-long goal of qualifying for the main event at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.“We made qualifying features all three nights at Boone this year,” he said. “We always look forward to Super Nationals and I’ll be back next year.”Sample’s 134 career wins are 23rd on the all-time list for the division.Starts-50Wins-23Additional Top Fives-18HIS CREW: Father Rodney, Eddie Poole and Kyle Ruh. HIS SPONSORS: Razor Chassis of Platte Center, Neb.; Wells Deisgn of Ogallala, Neb.; Area 41 Motorsports of Lovelock; Dakota Diesel of Battle Mountain; Icon Pistons of Carson City; Keyser Manufacturing of Coopersville, Mich.; and Dynamic Drivelines of Des Moines, Iowa.last_img read more

Orioles Spring Training Recap 2/24

first_imgThe Baltimore Orioles played two split squad games today. They Lost 9-6 to the Philadelphia Phillies during the day and then tied the Minnesota Twins 1-1. Dylan Bundy got the start in the day game, but things did not go well for Bundy in his first start of the Spring. The Orioles took an early lead in the top of the second inning when Luis Sardinas doubled home Chance Sisco. After escaping a jam for a clean first inning for Bundy, he found himself in another one in the second. With runners on first and third and one out, Roman Quin tied the game up with a chopped  ball to Chris Davis who hesitated looking at home and ended up not having a play anywhere. With the bases loaded and two outs, Bundy gave up a grand slam to Jorge Alfaro to make it 5-1 after two innings. The Oriole got a run back in the top of the third. Cedric Mullins lead off the inning with a walk and then Anthony Santander reached on catcher interference. A balk call then put them on second and third. Chris Davis and Ryan Mountcastle both struck out, but a wild pitch would allow Mullins to score before Chance Sisco eventually struck to end the inning. The Phillies were able to get another run off Andrew Faulkner in the fifth inning when Will Middlebrooks singled home Adam Rosales. The Orioles made it six to three in the seventh inning when Audry Perez singled back up the middle, glancing off the pitcher’s glove, and scoring Cedric Mullins. The Oriole were within one run after the top of the eight inning. T.J. Nichting doubled home Mason McCoy. Santander then singled to bring home Nichting and make it six to five. The Phillies were able to pull away in the bottom of the inning though. Jason Gurka came on to the mound and gave up three runs and making it nine to six going into the ninth.Perez got another RBI and a consolation run in the bottom of the ninth when he homered to left-center field. One other note from this game- Phillies player, Will Middlebrooks, had to be carted off after a collision with a teammate chasing a fly ball. The Orioles then played another game back home in Sarasota against the Minnesota Twins. This game had far less happen then the early game, finishing at a one all tie.Nestor Cortes hung a slider to Kennys Vargas to lead of the second inning with a double. Vargas was able to move up to third on a flyout, and then score on a sac fly the next at bat to give the Twins an early lead. The only other run came when Austin Wynns launched a home run into left-center.Other notes- The Orioles loaded the bases three times in this game, and were not able to score a run each time.Orioles starters have given up at least a run in each game so far.All three home runs this spring training have come from catchers,  Sisco, Perez, and Wynns. Please follow and like us:last_img read more
