Whether students are just beginning their time at Brock or are nearing graduation, determining the next step to move from education to career is often top of mind.To help with that transition, the Employable Expedition is being held Tuesday, March 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Market Hall.Presented by Brock International Services and Career Education, the event aims to help students navigate their career path by exploring useful experiences available at Brock.Crafted into short 15-minute roundtable sessions, students will have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, speak with successful alumni and have their resumé reviewed by experts in CareerZone.Sessions include learning effective interview strategies, building your personal brand, experiencing the world through exchange and study abroad opportunities, and becoming more involved on campus and in the community. An additional session, designed with international students in mind, will be led by Goodman School of Business alumnus Wasi Khan (BBA ’12), a business development representative at Sherwin-Williams. Originally from Bangladesh, Khan will share details of his time and Brock and insight into his transition from school to work.“Without hesitation, I personally enjoyed every bit of my Brock experience,” Khan said. “Brock’s personalized approach to learning, small classroom sizes and seminars really helped me develop and grow as an individual.”Khan credits Brock’s student mentorship programs and career resource centre for helping him stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs after graduation and looks forward to reviewing these opportunities with current students.A light lunch will be provided at the Employables Expedition, but advanced registration is required as space is limited. To register, please visit Brock’s CareerZone. read more
